The Krishnan Nair group had its beginnings in 1911, when the late SRI. M.R. Krishnan Nair set up an outlet in Alappuzha, for the sales and service of watches, wall-clocks and time pieces. He was a watch maker.
With his courteous service and honest dealings as well as firmly believing in the motto “the customer is king” he quickly acquired a vast happy and satisfied clientele, such that, at the time of his demise in 1948, he had made Krishnan Nair and sons a household name in central Travancore.
The reins then fell through different generations and branched out to different places like Kottayam, Trivandrum, Nagercoil, Ooty etc.
In 1953, watches assembled in Switzerland, under our own brand name ” SINDEX ” were imported and sold through our own outlets. By 1956, the venture into jewellery industry was made by Mr. Kunju Krishnan Nair and his wife Mani Krishnan Nair.
In 1986, the Krishnan Nair and Sons Jewellery shop was opened at the East Fort, Trivandrum which nests safely under the watchful eye of Lord Padmanabha Swamy. The branch also has a watch showroom on the first floor with an international service centre.
Under the patronage of Suresh K Nair and Sajeev K Nair, Krishnan Nair and Sons Jewellery and Watches became a household name across Trivandrum. Following the sad demise of Mr. Suresh K Nair in 2013, his daughters Suman Suresh and Sunanda Suresh along with the powerful guidance of Mrs. Brinda Suresh took reins of the brand.
In 2015, Krishnan Nair and Sons re-branded itself to KNS Jewellers and Watches.
